Special Program Announcement: Creating Safety Within Hatha Yoga

Satchidananda Ashram–Yogaville just announced it is hosting a special program “Intro to Trauma Informed Yoga: Creating Safety within Hatha Yoga” led by Integral Yoga Master Teacher Satya Greenstone, E-RYT 500, C-IAYT, Somatic Experiencing-trained therapist Rachel Raji Jenson, RYT-500 and Yoga teacher Vivekan John Ferguson, a former Marine vet who served two tours in Afghanistan and one in Iraq over his 20 year military career. The program will be held in Yogaville from April 11 – 14, 2024.

This program includes:
  • An understanding of the biology of trauma, and how this might show up in our students and in the Yoga practice
  • Offers teachers practical and useful tools to adapt and support students dealing with trauma
  • How to use Yoga to help this population and how we may need to adapt to make the practice more accessible
  • Therapeutic Sound Session with John Vivekan Furgeson, a war veteran using sound therapy with Veterans
