The Integral Yoga Archives preservation team is working hard to preserve, restore, and digitize the historical assets—about Swami Satchidananda and Integral Yoga International—stored at Satchidananda Ashram before they are lost to deterioration forever. The Archives began very informally as soon as Swami Satchidananda came to the West. He was, of course, very foresighted and would have his students begin to collect and record everything having to do with his service and the organization. His students began taking photographs, started to audiotape his talks (first with reel-to-reel recorders and then transcribe them). Films (16mm and 8mm) were also made of his travels, and later his talks and travels were videotaped. The construction of the physical space that currently houses the Archives in Yogaville was completed in 1989. Over the past two or three years, the restoration and digitization project hit high gear.
