Swami Lalitananda, senior monastic disciple of Swami Satchidananda, who holds a Master’s Degree in Special Education, was invited to give a TEDx talk recently (June 2022). Swami Lalitananda re-established the Integral Yoga Institute of Coimbatore in 1989 and helped oversee the establishment of LOTUS India.

A day of TEDx Youth talks was organized by SSVM World School, where Swami Lalitananda serves as a Yoga consultant and counselor for the teachers and students. This was the first TEDx talk to be organized in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

The program was opened by Sri T. P. Sreenivasan, former Deputy Ambassador from India to the US and Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations. The theme of the day “Ever Higher, Ever Better,” provided a platform for a series of speakers and for attendees to have a voice, choice, engagement, motivation, purpose and ownership in their conviction, thoughts and actions to live a meaningful life in this world, largely influenced by the metaverse phenomenon. A write-up in The Covai Mail (the weekly Tamil and English newspaper) praised Swami Lalitananda’s presentation, calling it “a gripping speech.”
