Fifty years ago, in October of 1970, the Integral Yoga Institute of New York purchased a building at 227 West 13th Street that has become an oasis of peace and health for thousands of New Yorkers and visitors from around the world. Similarly, in San Francisco, the Integral Yoga Institute was holding classes in several places when they found a beautiful building on Dolores Street—near to Mission Dolores, the city’s oldest structure—with its own historic architecture and view of the city.

On October 2 to 4, 20202, to celebrate these milestones, the organization is co-hosting a Virtual Coast to Coast and Global Celebration of Integral Yoga in conjunction with both centers and Integral Yoga Centers throughout the world. The events are free. Both New York and San Francisco centers are offering several programs specific to their respective cities and also sharing a number of virtual events on Sunday. Featured speakers include Swamis Karunananda, Ramananda, Divyananda, Chidananda, Vimalananda; Dr. Dean Ornish; Vijay Hassin; Chandra Jo Sgammato; kirtans with Astrud, Mirabai; Hatha Yoga; discussions and 50 years of memories; and much more!  Information and registration are available via San Francisco and New York.

Further, in appreciation of the support of the New York community that has made Integral Yoga one of the city’s premier Yoga schools, the Institute is offering a $50 discount on the normally $125 monthly unlimited Yoga class cards throughout the month of October. Visit the website beginning October 1st to purchase a 50th Anniversary monthly for only $75.

In honor of the 50th anniversary, the San Francisco Institute received a $10K pledge from a donor to help with the final expenses for this treasured historic building’s roof replacement and installation of solar panels. All donations of any size in honor of this anniversary are greatly appreciated.
